Martin Orford, born on June 10, 1959 in Bitterne, Southampton, England, is a keyboard player and singer. He founded progressive rock bands IQ and Jadis. Orford collaborated with John Wetton of King Crimson, UK, and Asia, and released the albums Classical Music And Popular Songs (2000) and The Old Road (2008). The latter featured guest appearances from Nick D'Virgilio, Dave Meros, John Mitchell, Gary Chandler, David Longdon, and Andy Edwards. Orford won the Best Keyboard Player award at the Best of the Year Classic Rock Society Award in 2004. He also contributed to Big Big Train albums Goodbye to the Age of Steam and English Boy Wonders. In October 2008, Orford announced his retirement from the music industry but returned for MelloFest 2009 to perform tracks from The Old Road as well as some IQ numbers.
