Ghost Beach, an American electronic music duo, was formed in 2013 by Josh Ocean LaViolette (vocals) and Eric "Doc" Mendelsohn (guitars). Their music was influenced by artists like Peter Gabriel and Talking Heads. In 2013, the band launched a public awareness campaign against music piracy by using a Times Square billboard to display philosophical questions and encourage viewers to share their opinions on social media through hashtags #ArtistsForPiracy or #ArtistsAgainstPiracy, with American Eagle Outfitters paying for its use. They released their debut full-length album Blonde in 2014 under Nettwerk Records. In the same year, Ghost Beach played at the South by Southwest Music Festival and shared stages with notable acts such as Imagine Dragons and Vampire Weekend.
