Annette Focks, born on August 28, 1964, in Thuine, Lower Saxony, Germany, is a musician and composer. She began playing the piano at age five and later studied music at the Musikhochschule Köln from 1985 to 1993. Focks recorded two albums with the band Die Weißen Männer, produced by Henning Schmitz of Kraftwerk. She earned a compositional degree in film and television at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München from 1996 to 1998. In 2005, she won the Deutscher Fernsehpreis for Best Film Music. Focks composed for over 150 German and international film and television productions, including Krabat, Ostwind, and Night Train to Lisbon. She won the Deutscher Filmpreis for Best Film Music in 2022 for Wunderschön.
