Edson Pereira Lucas da Silva, known professionally as O GAROTO DA RP, was born in Ceilândia, Brazil, and spent part of his childhood in a rural settlement in the Federal District. He began creating melodies and rhymes before learning to write, recording ideas on his mother’s phone, and later balanced farm work with his first studio sessions and regional releases. His recorded catalogue began to take shape in 2023 with the forró single “Doeu Até em Mim.” During 2024, he developed a danceable mixture of forró, piseiro, sertanejo, and music associated with cavalgadas through “Ei Morena,” “Morena Linda,” “Trenzão Gostoso,” “Morena Tô Te Amando,” and “Convite de Baile,” a collaboration with Miozin do Goiás. He continued in 2025 with “Caramelo,” “Morena Deixa,” “Mais Você Vai Beber,” and “Conveniência.” In 2026, O GAROTO DA RP released his first album, RP na Cavalgada (Ao Vivo), an eight-track live project shaped by forró, piseiro, sertanejo, and vaquejada culture. Further releases included “Moreninha (Ao Vivo),” “Batom (Ao Vivo),” “Loirinha de 1,58 (Ao Vivo),” “Pinica Eu,” “Pequena (Ao Vivo),” and “Parede e Meia (Ao Vivo).”
