Experimental Pop Band, an English indie pop group led by former singer of The Brilliant Corners, Davey Woodward, was formed in mid-1990 as a studio project under the name The South West Experimental Pop Band. Initially consisting of Woodward, Chris Galvin, and Corin Dingley, the band released their first two EPs in 1996, The Lounge and Boutique in my Backyard, with the latter earning 'Single of the week' by Melody Maker. Their debut full-length album, Discgrotesque, was released in 1997, after which Joe Rooney and Keith Bailey joined the group. Following Galvin's death from cancer in December 1998, the band continued with new bassist Mark Barber, releasing albums such as The Tracksuit Trilogy (2001) and Tarmac & Flames (2004). The band played at Glastonbury in 2004 and released Tinsel Stars in 2007. In 2010, Bailey left the band and was replaced by Mark Bradley.
