Cannes-based electro-pop duo Mutine made a name for themselves in early 2012 with their perfectly adapted cover of Mylène Farmer's "California" . The crowd-pleasing video shows a duo both light and sexy, reminiscent of Elli et Jacno or Niagara. In April 2012, Mutine clarified his point with his song "Fille ou garçon", in which he plays on the androgynous themes so well tackled in the past by Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin, and closer to home by Mylène Farmer.
