The Alternate Routes is an American rock band from Bridgeport, Connecticut, established in 2002. The group was founded by musicians Tim Warren and Eric Donnelly while they were students at Fairfield University. Their recording career began with the debut studio recording Good and Reckless and True (2005) followed by the re-release of the work through the label Vanguard Records in 2007. The ensemble reached professional recognition in 2006 when they received an Independent Music Award for the song "Ordinary". The Alternate Routes performed the single "Time Is a Runaway" (2007) on the television program Late Night with Conan O'Brien. Their discography included the extended play The Watershed EP (2008) followed by the studio recording Sucker's Dream (2009). The ensemble released the studio recording Lately (2010). They reached wider visibility for the single "Nothing More" (2013), which reached number 92 on the US iTunes chart and was featured in the closing ceremony of the 2014 Winter Olympics. The ensemble performed the song on the television program The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson in 2014. Their discography also included the live recording Live In Pawling (2017).
