Ross James McLennan, also known as Ross McLennan, is an Australian indie rock musician and songwriter. He began playing bass guitar and providing vocals in the mid‑1980s with the pop group The Hybrid. The Hybrid issued the single "The Iceman Cometh" (1989) and the EP The Getting Weird of Nigel Budweg (1990) before disbanding in 1991. He co‑founded the indie guitar pop trio Snout, releasing What's that Sound? (1994), The New Pop Dialogue (1996), Circle High & Wide (1998) and Managing Good Looks (2001) before Snout dissolved in 2002. He launched a solo career with Hits from the Brittle Building (2004) on W. Minc Records, followed by Sympathy for the New World (2008) on Mistletone Records, which was short‑listed for the Australian Music Prize that year. Subsequent releases include The Night's Deeds Are Vapour (2013) and All the Colours Print Can Manage (2017).
