Statuto is an Italian ska band from Turin. Formed in 1983, the group took its name from Piazza Statuto, a square where the city's mods traditionally gathered. Their early career included the release of the demo tapes Torino Beat (1984) and Nella città (1985). The ensemble gained national attention with the singles “Io Dio” (1986) and “Ghetto/Non sperarci” (1987), leading to their debut studio album, Vacanze, in 1988. In 1992, the group achieved widespread popularity after participating in the Sanremo Festival with the song “Abbiamo vinto il Festival di Sanremo”. That same year, they released the album Zighidà, which sold approximately 40,000 copies and featured the track “Piera”. Their subsequent recordings included the albums È tornato Garibaldi (1993) and Canzonissime (1996). Statuto also contributed to various collaborative projects, including Mondo Beat (1998) and Rumore di fondo (2001). Their discography included the albums Elegantemente rudi (2008), È già domenica (2010) and Un giorno di festa (2013).
