Sound Team was an American rock band formed in Austin, Texas in 2000 by Bill Baird and Matt Oliver. The group released two early CD-R albums, Sound Team and Into the Lens, in 2002 before solidifying their lineup. They gained traction through extensive touring and releasing cassettes like Every Day Is a New Year. In 2005, Sound Team released the EP Work, after which they signed with Capitol Records. Their debut album, Movie Monster (2006), received positive reviews but struggled commercially due to an unusually high list price set by the label. After lineup changes and being dropped from EMI in 2007, Sound Team played their final show at the Austin City Limits Music Festival on September 15, 2007.
