Ninety Pound Wuss is an American punk rock band formed in Port Angeles, Washington, in 1994 by drummer Marty Martinez, guitarist John Himmelberger, and bassist Matt "Gunner" Nelson. Lead vocalist Jeff Suffering joined shortly thereafter. In 1995, the band signed to Tooth & Nail Records and released their self-titled debut album in 1996, which featured the song "Something Must Break" and established them within the Christian punk scene. They released the EP Kick You Hard in 1996. In 1997, Ninety Pound Wuss returned with Where Meager Die of Self Interest, marking a shift to a darker post-punk sound. The band continued this evolution with Short Hand Operation in 1999, which showcased increased use of guitar effects and synthesizers. Despite their growing displeasure with the Christian music industry, Ninety Pound Wuss disbanded in 2000 but reformed in 2023 to play in Bremerton, WA, and at Furnace Fest in Birmingham, AL.
