Narcissus is an American hardcore and post-hardcore band from Canton, Ohio. Formed in 1998 by guitarist John LaRussa and vocalist John Pope, the ensemble originally consisted of Ray Taylor, Justin Carroll and Derek Carter. The group released its debut EP ...And Forthwith Came Out Blood and Water, in 1999 through the label Clenched Fist Records. In 2000, the band signed with Takehold Records and issued the studio album Newwave Techno Homicide. Their recording history featured the studio recording Becoming Leviathan (2001) and the compilation Narcissus (2002), the latter released through Century Media subsidiary Abacus Records. During its career, the ensemble appeared on the 2003 Vans Warped Tour and performed on tours alongside acts including Underoath, Further Seems Forever and Embodyment. The group subsequently issued the studio recording Crave and Collapse (2003). The ensemble disbanded in 2003 but resumed activity in 2020. In 2021, the band headlined a concert at the festival Furnace Fest. In 2026, members of the ensemble include Josh King and Colin Simula.
