Aknestik was a Finnish guitar pop band from Haukipudas, formed in 1984. The group debuted with the EP Suomen pystykorvan kadonnut onni (1990) before releasing a series of studio albums, including Ojat on rajat (1991), Valassaaret (1993), Säätiedotuksia merenkulkijoille (1996), and Vedenpaisumus (2001). They achieved widespread popularity with melodic hits such as "Jokapäivä," "Toukokuussa," and their signature anthem, "Suomirokkia." While the band ceased active operations in 2002, front man Jukka Takalo, who is still active in the music industry, continued as a solo artist. Compilations like Sata vuotta kaivossa – Aknestikin suurimmat hitit (2006) preserved their legacy.
