Chris Boettcher, born 11 April 1964 in Ingolstadt, Germany, began his artistic journey as the son of a well‑known brewery master who performed locally. After completing his secondary education, Boettcher co‑founded the band Slip 33 and entered the radio and music scene, winning the 1984 Thomas Gottschalk “Entdeck‑Eck” competition on Bayern 3 and a subsequent contest on Bayern 2. He studied English and German studies briefly before shifting focus to broadcasting, working first at the private station Radio IN, then as a producer and host on Radio Xanadu and later at Antenne Bayern, where he developed his comedic songwriting style. In 1993 Boettcher released his debut single "Ganz egal", followed by the 1994 single "Singles sind nie einsam/Westwärts". His first album, Chris Boettchers Liederwahnsinn (1999), established him as a touring performer and led to subsequent releases such as Be a Star (2001) and the live recording Live im Schlachthof (2009). The 2009 single "10 Meter geh’", a parody of Germany’s Next Topmodel, entered the German charts and was later re‑released in a German version by Markus Becker and Almklausi in 2010. Boettcher continued to combine music and comedy with projects like Fränglisch mit Loddar (2010) and the Highlights compilation (2013), while maintaining a presence on radio, television, and live stages such as the Circus Krone.
