Swiss music group Die Minstrels, formed in Zürich in 1967, and consists of Daniel "Dani" Fehr on piano and banjo, Mario Feurer on violin, and Pepe Solbach on guitar and vocals. Initially performing as wandering minstrels in traditional costumes, the trio blended folk, blues, and Swiss folk music. Their breakthrough came with a television appearance at the OLMA in St. Gallen in October 1969, which propelled them to fame. The single "Grüezi wohl, Frau Stirnimaa!" entered the Swiss Hitparade at number 2 and remained in the top ten for seventeen weeks, peaking at Number 1 for ten of those weeks. It also reached number 3 in Germany and number 5 in Austria, selling 1.5 million copies across 27 countries. In late 1970, Die Minstrels moved into a 16-room house in Trogen, where they built a studio to record their debut album Chrüsimüsi, released in 1971. The band's subsequent singles included "Hopp de Bäse!" which reached number 2 in the Swiss charts and held a position in the top ten for four weeks. Despite these successes, Die Minstrels struggled to replicate the commercial heights of their initial hit. The group disbanded in 1974.
