Dink was an alternative and industrial rock band formed in Kent, Ohio, in 1992. The group consisted of Sean Carlin, Rob Lightbody, Jer Herring, Jeff Finn, and Jan Eddy Van Der Kuil. The members released three cassette-only EPs, including Angels (1993) and Cops Are Baffled (1993), before signing with Capitol Records. They released their self-titled debut studio album, Dink, in 1994, which peaked at number 31 on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums chart. The song “Green Mind” from this album reached number 35 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart and was featured in films such as Fear and Double Dragon. The band toured with acts including Pop Will Eat Itself, KMFDM, and Lords of Acid, but disbanded in 1998 after being dropped by its record label. In 2014, the documentary Gangrene: The Dink Documentary was released, and a full-length version of the band's scrapped album, Blame It on Tito, was leaked online. Sean Carlin, the band's frontman, died of cancer in 2023.
