Ewa Maria Bem-Sibilska, known professionally as Ewa Bem, was born on February 23, 1951, in Warsaw, Poland. She began her singing career in 1969 with the Stodola Blues Group and gained initial recognition performing with Zbigniew Seifert's Jazz quartet, winning the first prize for best singer at the 1971 Lublin Jazz Festival. Ewa Bem later formed her own band, initially called Bemibek (later renamed Bemibem), which performed extensively on national and international jazz festivals. In the early 1970s, Ewa Bem started expanding her repertoire to include pop music, reaching a wider audience. She has collaborated with jazz musicians including Andrzej Jagodziński, Marek Bliziński, and Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski, and has performed throughout Poland, Europe, Cuba, India, and the United States. Her discography includes albums such as Loves the Beatles (1984), I Co Z Tego Masz? (1986), and ewa.ewa (2004).
