Ilari Jarmo Saari, born on March 14, 197o in Kauniainen, Finland, is a guitarist, composer, and producer. Saari’s musical development included choir singing, cello, trombone lessons, and acquiring a guitar at age ten. After studying guitar and composition at the Jazz Department of Sibelius Academy, Saari graduated with a Master of Music in 1999 and debuted as a solo artist in 2000 with the Jarmo Saari Solu project. The project's first album, Jarmo Saari Filmtet: A Tribute To Finnish Cinema, was released in 2001, followed by the formation of Jarmo Saari Republic in 2012. Saari collaborated with Jukka Perko, Anna‑Mari Kähärä, Emma Salokoski, UMO Jazz Orchestra, and Tuomari Nurmio, and contributed to films. In 2012, he received the Finland Prize for his achievements.
