Jonezetta was an American rock band from Clinton, Mississippi, formed in 2002 while its members were still in high school. The group initially played occasional gigs on the Southern college circuit. The band's lineup changed over time, notably adding keyboardist Timothy Jordan II, who died by suicide in December 2005. In the same year, Jonezetta signed with Tooth & Nail Records and their debut album, Popularity, was released in 2006, preceded by the single "Get Ready (Hot Machete)" (2006). Jonezetta's second album, Cruel to Be Young, was released in 2008 and featured guest vocals from David Bazan of Pedro the Lion on the song "Sick in the Teeth". The band toured extensively with acts such as Anberlin and Mutemath.
