The Kingsbury Manx is an American indie rock group from Chapel Hill, North Carolina formed by Bill Taylor, Ken Stephenson, Scott Myers, and Ryan Richardson. The band's origins trace back to the mid-1990s when the members met at school. They began writing original songs during college weekends in Chapel Hill, leading to their 1999 demo tape, which marked their official formation. Overcoat Records signed them based on this demo, and they released their debut album The Kingsbury Manx in January 2000. The band underwent personnel changes, with Paul Finn and Clarque Blomquist replacing Stephenson and Myers. Their subsequent albums include The Fast Rise and Fall of the South (2005), Ascenseur Ouvert! (2009), and Bronze Age (2013).
