Guy Van Nueten, born in 1965 in Turnhout, Belgium, is a pianist and composer. He began playing piano at age four and later joined the band The Sands, whose debut album The Sands was produced by Bill Janovitz of Buffalo Tom and released worldwide by Universal Records. In 1990, Van Nueten wrote "April and June", a notable track on Belgian radio. He then shifted to classical music, studying composition under Jacques De Tiège. Van Nueten has composed for various theater productions and films, including works featured by Toneelhuis and Les Ballets C de la B. In 2016, he received a Fellowship at the Sundance Institute. His solo albums include Merg (2009) and Pacman (2013), which are parts of a trilogy that concluded with Contact in 2018.
