Radiopilot was formed in Berlin, Germany, in 2005 by Lukas Pizon (guitar, vocals), Rafael Triebel (guitar), Benjamin Steinke (bass), Christoph Hengelhaupt (drums) and Florian Büttner (keyboard); Lukas Pizon, served as the band’s lead vocalist and guitarist. The group’s early breakthrough came with the download single "Fahrrad" released on 28 March 2008, accompanied by a video directed by Ole Ziesemann that appeared on the music channel Yavido and later featured on the FIFA 09 soundtrack. In late 2007, Radiopilot signed with Sony BMG Columbia Deutschland, and between May and November 2007 the debut album Leben passiert! was recorded at Bochumer Mohrmann Studio with producer O.L.A.F. Opal. The album, released on 22 August 2008, was supported by the single "Monster" (1 August 2008), which entered the German singles chart at number 82, and a tour as a support act for Juli. Subsequent releases included the download single "Immer wenn wir träumen" on 29 May 2009 and a series of monthly free singles through the Radiopilot Singles Club in 2009; a second album was never issued. The band announced its dissolution in June 2013, and Lukas Pizon later joined Sony/ATV Music Publishing Germany as an A&R manager.
