Pauline Scanlon is an Irish singer from Dingle, County Kerry. She began her professional career at the age of 15 and performed extensively alongside Sharon Shannon, including a cover of the Joni Mitchell track “A Case of You” on the recording Libertango (2003). She released her debut solo studio album, Red Colour Sun (2004), followed by the collaborative studio recording Hush (2006). Scanlon performed backing vocals for Belinda Carlisle on the recording Voila (2007) and for Kyle Carey on the studio recording Monongah (2011). In 2009, she established the ensemble Lumiere with Éilís Kennedy, releasing their eponymous debut studio album, Lumiere (2009), and the studio recording My Dearest Dear (2013). Her solo discography includes the studio recordings Gossamer (2016) and The Unquiet: Songs for My Mother (2022), the latter dedicated to her late mother. In 2026, she appeared in the documentary Amhráin do mo Mháthair (Songs for My Mother).
