Blodsrit are a Swedish black metal ensemble from Västervik formed in 1998. The ensemble was established by Kettil and Jimmie “Nazgûl” Nyhlen under the name Skuggrike. After the recording of the demo The Arrival of Kaos (1998), Nyhlen continued the project as a solo act and adopted the name Blodsrit. Their recording career includes the demo Dödens sändebud (1999). They achieved professional recognition for the split recording Storm of Immolation (2000), which featured tracks by the ensemble Ritual Orchestra. Their debut studio recording Supreme Misanthropy (2001) was released through Oaken Shield Records. Their discography includes the studio recordings Ocularis infernum (2003), Helveteshymner (2004), and The Well of Light Has Finally Dried (2006). They achieved professional recognition for a musical style characterized as primitive nordic black metal.
