Holly Palmer, who was born circa 1971 in Santa Monica, California, is an American singer-songwriter. After graduating from the Berklee College of Music, her career began performing in Boston, where she signed a demo deal with Island Records. She released her self-titled album, Holly Palmer (1996), on Reprise Records, which featured contributions from Bill Frisell and John Leventhal, and the single “Different Languages” (1996) received radio airplay. She toured with artists such as k.d. lang and David Bowie, providing backing vocals on Bowie's album Hours (1999), including on the song “Thursday's Child” (1999). In 2004, she launched Bombshell Records to release her albums I Confess (2004) and Tender Hooks (2004), and she also recorded “Down with Love”, a duet with Michael Bublé. She toured as a vocalist with the Gnarls Barkley live band in support of their album St. Elsewhere (2006) and released her fourth album, Songs for Tuesday (2007). She collaborated with Allee Willis as Bubbles & Cheesecake, releasing the single “It's a Woman Thang” in October 2007, and later issued her fifth album, A Family Album (2017).
