Katydids were an English rock band formed in the late 1980s by vocalist Susie Hug and guitarist Adam Seymour. The group, which also included Dan James on guitar, David Hunter on bass guitar, and Shane Young on drums, gained early attention when NME listed them as a tip for stardom in December 1989. Katydids released their self-titled debut album Katydids (1990), featuring the singles "Girl in a Jigsaw Puzzle" (1989) and "Lights Out (Read My Lips)" (1990). Their second album, Shangri-la (1991), followed with notable tracks including "Seesaw" and "The Boy Who's Never Found". After two unsuccessful albums, Katydids disbanded in 1991 after being dropped by their label Reprise. Post-breakup, Susie Hug pursued a solo career, releasing two EPs and an album, while Adam Seymour joined The Pretenders. In 2014, new music from Katydids surfaced with the release of the EPs Meet the Katydids (2014) and Presents (2014) on SoundCloud.
