Urban Verbs was an American new wave band from Washington, D.C., initially active between 1977 and 1982. It originally consisted of Roddy Frantz, Robert Goldstein, Linda France, Robin Rose, and Danny Frankel. Their first performance took place at an art party near Dupont Circle. In 1980, Urban Verbs released their self-titled debut album under Warner Bros Records, produced by Mike Thorne. The following year, they released their second album Early Damage. Notable performances include shows at CBGB in 1978, where producer Brian Eno was present. Urban Verbs also played alongside notable acts such as the B-52's and Pere Ubu. The band disbanded after their final show at Nightclub 9:30 on October 29, 1982 and reunited for performances in 1995 and 2008. Robert Goldstein passed away on October 7, 2016.
