Girl Friends is a South Korean musical duo formed in 2006, consisting of friends Yuri and Chae Rina. Both members had prior experience in major Korean pop groups: Yuri with Cool and Chae Rina with Roo'ra and Diva. They became acquainted during the 1990s while performing with their respective groups and discussed a joint project for over a decade before finally forming Girl Friends. The duo's debut album, Another Myself, was released in July, 2006, featuring the single "Maybe I Love You". The R&B-infused album sold 8000 copies by the end of August. Their second album, Addict 2 Times, followed in August 2007, with a promotional approach focusing on their music rather than dance performances. Despite their efforts, the album sold only 1,777 copies and did not chart significantly.
