A Foot in Coldwater was a Canadian rock band formed in Toronto in 1970. The original lineup included Alex Machin on vocals, Bob Horne on keyboards, Paul Naumann on guitar, Danny Taylor on drums, and Hughie Leggat on bass guitar and vocals. They signed with Daffodil Records and released their debut album A Foot in Coldwater in 1972, featuring the single "(Make Me Do) Anything You Want", which reached the top 25 on the Canadian charts. The band's subsequent albums included The Second Foot in Coldwater (1973) and All Around Us (1974). Daffodil Records filed for bankruptcy in 1976, and the band recorded the single "Breaking Through" (1977) with Anthem Records. The group disbanded shortly after but regrouped for short tours in 1988. Notable achievements include the induction of "(Make Me Do) Anything You Want" into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2019.
