Bob Mamet, born in Chicago, Illinois, is an American musician and composer known for his work in smooth jazz and film music. He began playing the piano at age five and initially pursued a law degree at Johns Hopkins University before shifting his focus to music. He received training at the Peabody Conservatory and moved to Los Angeles to work as a composer and studio musician. In 1988, he began composing film scores for television and movies such as Aftershock. His album, Signs of Life, was released in 1994 on Atlantic Records, followed by Day Into Night (1995) and Adventures in Jazz (1997). He collaborated with notable musicians including Alex Acuña, Larry Carlton, Eric Marienthal, Gerald Albright, and David Benoit. His composition "Greenstreet" became one of his most recognized works during this period.
