Daniel Mamadou Diouma Camara, known professionally as Dadoo, was born in 1974 in Marseille, France. He began his musical journey in 1994 with the group KDD, becoming its leader at eighteen after their debut album Opte pour le K. The group later released Résurrection (1998) and Une couleur de plus au drapeau (2000), reaching respectively number 20 and number 57 on the French charts. After KDD disbanded, Dadoo launched a solo career, signing with Sony Columbia and releasing France History Xn (2003), which peaked at umber 27 in France. The track “Sales Gosses” met with immediate success and earned a music video featuring Jamel Debbouze, Éric et Ramzy, Dieudonné and Joeystarr, while Dadoo also appeared alongside Vitaa on “Pas à pas” (2002). Dadoo collaborated with artists such as Akhenaton, Kool Shen, and Joeystarr, co-produced the soundtrack for Taxi 3, and composed music for RRRrrrr!!!. Throughout the early 2000s, Dadoo remained active in the French rap circuit, contributing to multiple collaborative projects and soundtracks. In 2006 he produced Joeystarr’s album Gare au Jaguarr, earning a nomination at the Victoires de la Musique 2007 in the “musiques urbaines” category. After a seven-year hiatus, he returned in 2015 as Dadoo & The Classics, with a new video for “Bullets”.
