Staffan William-Olsson, born on December 13, 1959 in Sweden, is a jazz guitarist known for his collaborations with notable musicians such as Bob Berg, Lee Konitz, and Palle Mikkelborg. He began playing multiple instruments at age seven, initially studying classical piano but later focusing on guitar under the influence of blues and rock music. His breakthrough came when he discovered jazz-rock. William-Olsson replaced Ulf Wakenius in the Swedish fusion band Hawk on Flight and joined the hard rock band Sons of Angels, which signed with Atlantic Records and toured extensively. His solo work includes albums such as "Three Shades of Blue" (1995) and Smile! (1998).
