Malaysia's premier purveyors of alternative rock, Disagree formed in Kuala Lumpur in 1995, took the country's music scene by storm until 2011 and made a comeback eight years later. Originally formed by high school students Mohamed Zahid Yon a.k.a. Zahid and Hamka, the duo soon added band members Lan (guitarist) and Amir (bassist) and as a quartet recorded their first demo, Never Cry Wolf, in 1996. Following a career-boosting live performance playing to a crowd of 10,000 at Malaysia's Rock the World festival, Lan and Amir quit the group to be later replaced by bassist Aziz and rhythm guitarist Ashroff. In 2002, the newly formed quartet opened the country's leading rock festival, Rock the World, and caught the attention of Fat Boys Records' boss Jason Lo. The local heroes dropped their debut album, At the End of the Day, on the label in 2004, followed by their second and final full-length, To Prevent the Earth from Moving with You, in 2009. Disagree made a comeback in 2019 with a slab of slow-burning instrumental rock, "D.S.M.H."
