Luie Hond, a Frisian band from the Netherlands, was active between 1997 and 2007 and was known for blending reggae, ska, and rock. The group gained national attention after being discovered by Ilse DeLange, whose concerts they supported, and appeared at major Dutch festivals including Lowlands and Noorderslag. Their debut album, Hier Is... (2004), was followed by Met Liefde (2006), which adopted a stronger reggae focus and included a guest appearance by De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig on "Poes in de Playboy." Despite signing with PIAS and plans for a major promotional campaign, including the release of music videos, the band failed to achieve a commercial breakthrough. Luie Hond disbanded in 2007, citing financial difficulties and declining motivation.
