Soul of Man, the duo comprising Justin Rushmore and Jem Panufnik, founded the independent English label Finger Lickin' Records in 1998 as the creative force behind it, devoted entirely to dance music. The label focuses mainly on breakbeat, electro and hip-hop, with elements of disco and funk running through these styles. The label's rise was reflected at the Breakspoll awards, where it was named best label every year from 2002 to 2005, while artists on the roster, notably the Plump DJs, who won three awards in 2004, also earned accolades.
