Catchers, an indie pop band from Northern Ireland, formed in 1993. The group released their debut EP Shifting in 1994, marking their initial breakthrough and introducing their distinctive sound to the Irish music scene. Their first full-length album, Mute, followed in 1994, receiving critical acclaim from NME and the Times. In 1998, the band released the EP Come Around and the subsequent album Stooping To Fit, which featured strings and bass arrangements and a darker sound. After playing a show at The Garage in London in 1999, the band stopped performing for several years. In 2019, they reissued Mute on Vinyl through Les Disques du 7ème Ciel, and released a live album and an album of outtakes, We Speak in Flames, through TSY Records.
