Turbo Fruits was a garage rock band formed in 2006 in Nashville, Tennessee, by Jonas Stein while he was still in Be Your Own Pet. Their self-titled debut album, Turbo Fruits, was released in 2007, via Thurston Moore's Ecstatic Peace! label and ARK Recordings. After Be Your Own Pet disbanded in 2008, Stein continued Turbo Fruits, adding bassist Wes Traylor and drummer Zack Martin for the second album, Echo Kid, released in 2009. The band appeared in Drew Barrymore's directorial debut, Whip It, that same year. Subsequent albums included Butter (2012) and No Control (2015). Turbo Fruits performed at notable festivals such as Reading and Leeds Festival (2006), SXSW (2007-2011), CMJ Music Marathon (2008-2011), and Sled Island Festival (2010). The band officially split up in 2016.
