Vietnam, a rock post-punk and new wave band from Atlanta, Georgia. The group's initial lineup included Stan Satin on lead vocals, saxophone, and percussion; David Dean on drums, backing vocals, moog synthesiser, steel drum, and percussion; David Watkins on drums and percussion; Laurie G-Force on bass and backing vocals; Ken Schenck on electric guitar. Vietnam first appeared in the early 1980s, quickly becoming part of the Atlanta new wave scene. Their debut performance was opening for Public Image Ltd. in April 1980. The following year, they played at the Noise Fest in New York and were featured on the ZG compilation release alongside bands like Sonic Youth and Glenn Branca. In 2005, Vietnam released their first full-length album, Past Away, on Scared Records.
