Kaophonic Tribu was a French group formed in 1998. The band initially gained recognition with their debut album Quasi Transe prolog. released in 2001, which led to their award at the Printemps de Bourges festival that same year. Following this breakthrough, Kaophonic Tribu released their second album, Nysa Sphère 7, in 2002 and signed with Canadian label Indica after performing at the Coup de cœur francophone festival in Montreal. In 2006, they released Éliso Déli, followed by Métamorphose in 2009, which was supported by the Electrochoc tour lasting until 2012. The group ceased all activity but reformed in 2022 to celebrate their 20th anniversary, releasing the album PhœnX. Kaophonic Tribu is known for blending acoustic and electric trance with elements of drum and bass and rock, featuring a distinctive sound that includes mandingue percussion, didgeridoo, guitar, keyboards, and vocals.
