Charlotte Greig, born on August 10, 1954, in the Crown Colony of Malta, was an English singer and songwriter. She attended Charsfield village school where she learned traditional folk songs. Her musical journey began with the release of the album Night Visiting Songs in 1998, which featured both traditional and self-written songs. Greig collaborated extensively with guitarist Julian Hayman on several albums including Down in the Valley (2000), At Llangennith (2001), Winter Woods (2003), and Quite Silent (2005). Her unique style, which included playing the harmonium and mountain dulcimer with occasional electronic additions, was influenced by artists like Lal Waterson and Nico. Her final release before her death on June 19, 2014, was the album Dr Freud's Cabaret (2014), a collection of songs featuring guest vocalists including Euros Childs and Jon Langford.
