Peggy Sue, an English indie pop/indie folk band from Brighton, formed in 2007. Initially known as Peggy Sue and the Pirates, they shortened their name to Peggy Sue in June 2008. The band released their first EP, The First Aid, in 2008, through Broken Sounds Music. They signed with Yep Roc Records in April 2009. Their debut album, Fossils and Other Phantoms, was released by Wichita Recordings in 2010. Peggy Sue gained critical acclaim for subsequent albums including Acrobats (2011) and Peggy Sue Play the Songs of Scorpio Rising (2012). The band toured with prominent artists including Mumford & Sons and Kate Nash.
