The Crash Crew is an American hip hop group from Harlem, Lincoln Projects, New York City, New York, United States, formed in 1977. In 1980, they recorded their first single "High Power Rap" (1980) under the moniker Disco Dave and the Force of the 5 MC's on Mike & Dave Records and signed to Sugar Hill Records. The group was among the first emcees to sing on records and during live performances. They released their debut album The Crash Crew (1984), followed by High Powered Rappers (1996) and Back to the Old School 2 - We Are Emcees (2001). DJ Daryll C., a founding member of the group, passed away in 1999 due to diabetes.
