Grammatics, a British alternative rock band from Leeds, England, was formed in 2006 by Owen Brinley and Dominic Ord. The group initially performed under the name Rose Parade before adopting Grammatics, inspired by a popular club night run by Brinley and Ord. The band's lineup included Owen Brinley on vocals and guitar, Lindsay Wilson on cello, James Field on drums, and Rory O'Hara on bass. Their breakthrough came with the release of their first commercial single "Shadow Committee" in 2007, which was followed by several limited-edition vinyl releases. They signed to the independent label Dance to the Radio and released their self-titled debut album in 2009. The band supported Bloc Party on their British tour in October 2009 and announced their disbandment in July 2010 due to financial reasons and members living in different cities. Their final performances took place in August 2010, marking the end of the group's active career.
