Producteur de musique électronique retrofuturiste 🪩
Having grown up immersed in the independent electronic music scene and influenced by producers like Todd Terje, Joseph Mount (Metronomy), James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem), and Sébastien Tellier, Rémi Guagliata, aka Païkan, is part of a new generation of artists who define themselves as active participants and activists within the contemporary electronic music scene. DJ, producer, cultural mediator, co-founder of the Bruit Marron label and the audiovisual production studio uma... the Dijon-born producer is active on all fronts of a vibrant and dynamic scene.
Following the 2021 release of the single "Anna" and the 2023 release of his retro-futuristic space odyssey "2222" with its track "Eléa," Païkan is now focusing on remixes of both local artists like Pilote (Close to me) and Alberville (Alber), as well as intergenerational hits such as "Eve lève-toi" (Julie Pietri) and "Bad Romance" (Lady Gaga). With these releases, Païkan embraces a decidedly dance-oriented sound, drawing on both a nostalgic, Balearic groove tinged with Italo-Disco and New Wave, and his own inspirations and those of leading producers from the 2010s independent scene, somewhere between Indie Pop and Nu-Disco.
Crafting a unique electronic universe with 80s accents and sounds, Païkan returns in 2026 with a new live show and new tracks exploring the theme of colour, the result of work carried out in collaboration with the Besançon-based visual artist Riricanquilt.
