Caspa, born Gary McCann in West London, England, on May 30, 1982, is an English dubstep music producer and DJ. After a promising basketball career was cut short by a shoulder injury, he began producing music, citing jungle and hip hop as his early influences. He received his first public recognition when his debut track, “Bassbins”, recorded under the pseudonym Quiet Storm, was featured by BBC Radio 1Xtra DJ Da Flex. In 2004, he founded the record label Storming Productions before joining Stingray Records in 2006 and launching his dubstep imprint, Dub Police, featuring artists including Rusko and N-Type, while hosting a radio show on Rinse FM. His 2010 single alongside Mr. Hudson, “Love Never Dies (Back for the First Time)”, received widespread public attention and was playlisted on BBC Radio 1. He released his debut studio album, Everybody's Talking, Nobody's Listening, on May 4, 2009, through Sub Soldiers and Fabric Records, featuring an appearance by reggae musician Sir David Rodigan. His 2012 single “War”, featuring Keith Flint, was featured in the trailer for the film Kick-Ass 2 and included on the Halo 4 remix album. He has performed at major festivals including Glastonbury, Global Gathering, Lollapalooza, and Fabric, and relocated to Denver, Colorado, United States, in 2014.
