Chilly Friday was a Greenlandic rock band formed in Nuuk in 2000 by Malik Kleist, Angunnguaq Larsen, and Alex Andersen, who had previously played in Affray during a music school stint in Denmark. After meeting Henrik Møller Jensen in 1999, the group signed with Atlantic Music and released their debut album Inuiaat 2000 in November 2000, selling 1,000 copies in the first week. They followed with Saamimmiit Talerpianut in 2001, featuring socially critical songs, and garnered a 2002 Arctic Winter Games appearance seen by eight million viewers. In 2004 they issued the cover‑heavy Tribute, and in 2005 released M/S Kalaallit Nunaat, their last full-length effort before a 2007 farewell concert; the band returned for a single 2015 show in Nuuk.
