Surferosa, a Norwegian rock group formed in 2000 in Bø, Telemark, emerged from a local punk scene with vocalist Mariann Thomassen and synthesizer player Andreas Orheim. Their first EPs, Neon Kommando (2002) and To Russia with Love (2002), established a blend of pop‑rock and new‑wave influences, culminating in the single "Lucky Lipstick" (2003). In March 2003 the album Shanghai My Heart was released, followed by The Force (September 2005), which featured the track "Royal Uniform" that appeared on the FIFA 07 soundtrack and the Singstar PlayStation 3 download. The band toured across Asia, America, the United Kingdom and Scandinavia, and contributed to the film Bare Bea soundtrack. In December 2009 Surferosa announced a hiatus, returning in 2025 with "In the Dead of the Night".
