Ari Petteri Rasilainen, born on February 18, 1959, in Helsinki, Finland, is a Finnish conductor. He studied under Jorma Panula and Arvid Jansons. Rasilainen gained international recognition in 1989 after winning second prize at the Nicolai Malko International Conducting Competition in Copenhagen. From 1999-2002, he served as guest conductor at the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra and from 2002 at the Pori Sinfonietta. His discography includes recordings with the Norwegian Radio Symphony Orchestra for Finlandia Records and the complete symphonies of composers like Kurt Atterberg and Aulis Sallinen.
