Active Member are a Greek hip-hop and low bap ensemble from Athens formed in 1992. The group was established by Michalis Mitakidis, known as B.D. Foxmoor, alongside Nikitas Klint, known as Xray, and Dimitris Kritikos, known as DJ MCD. They contributed to the development of the hip-hop scene in Greece and established the sub-genre "low bap," which features instrumental passages over sampled beats. They released their debut studio album, Διαμαρτυρία (1993), through Freestyle Productions. In 1995, they signed with Warner Music, becoming the first Greek hip-hop group to join a major label, and released the studio recording Το μεγάλο κόλπο (1995). Their discography includes the studio recordings Μύθοι του βάλτου (1998), Στον καιρό του αλλόκοτου φόβου (2001), and Fiera (2004). In 2003, Mitakidis and Sadahzinia established the independent label 8ctagon. The ensemble became inactive in 2015 following the release of the studio recording Κάρπιμο (2015), but resumed activity in 2017.
