Antoine Innocent was born in Paris in a cosmopolitan family : his mother being the first french-born in her Romanian family, and his father, originally from Haiti, who left at the age of 20 to try his luck as a singer in the United States.
Until his teenage years, Antoine followed his father on tour, growing up in the peculiar environment of backstages and merchandising stands. Humble yet demanding, Antoine's father also invited him to join him on stage.
After living in Ottawa for a while to be closer to Antoine's father's activities, his mother decided to settle in Brussels, which became her son's favorite city.
Antoine tried his hand at musical theater and sang alongside his sister in high school... But he knew that music was not innate: "it is also the result of a lot of hard work." Antoine challenged himself in a tiny home studio that was more like a basement. Learning to channel his voice in the microphone, accompanying himself on the guitar, writing songs, all while going on with his studies... Just as he was ready to devote himself entirely to his art, the pandemic struck. Faced with a culture deemed « non-essential » and his own maturity which he himself doubted, Antoine hesitated. However, the call of music was stronger.
Between haunting ballads and fierce up-tempo tracks, each song on his upcoming EP resonates with his influences – from country to soul, through R’n’B and rock’n’roll.
